Racing Ahead

RAF REVIEW

King GeorgeVI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes Ascot (29 July)

HIGHLAND REEL drifted in the market as the rain came down at Ascot. In the circumstances the top-rated pick ran a good race. But there was no mistaking the chances of ENABLE, and John Gosden’s super filly enhanced her growing reputation and is now favourite for the Arc in October.

Sussex Stakes Goodwood (2 August)

RIBCHESTER laboured on atrocious ground and his cause was not helped by the unwillingness of pacemaker Toscanini who never got going. The rain meant that the duel on the Downs with Churchill did not materialise and even allowing for the conditions the Godolphin Colt should have won the race, the fact he was only beaten a neck by Here ComesWhen after running a curious race only served to underline this view. But that’s racing.

Nassau Stakes Goodwood (3 August)

Andrew Balding stole the Sussex Stakes with Here Comes When and top-rated BLOND ME at 16/1 was a decent eachway chance in the race where second-ratedWINTER added to her growing reputation.

The form readers would have been on both ENABLE and WINTER and both horses were highlighted in my two selections against the field in the Wordpress blogs.

So where are we with are RAF results now? Below I have reproduced the results for‘Win only’and‘Each-Way’with the e/w odds at one quarter to stakes of a half point each-way. See table below

Notwithstanding Blond Me’s effort at 16/1, backing both Ballet Concerto and Ulysses each-way at odds of 8/1 impacts on the total profit figure although we wouldn’t be saying that if they hadn’t won. Next month we will look at the Arc de Triomphe and discuss the next iteration of the TOP Racing Systems.Happy Racing!
