DESERT DREAM (5yo)
Trainer: M Easterby
Last Run: Carlisle - 20th May Finishing last in a field of eleven hardly strikes as a horse worth following but Desert Dream's chances of success were blown before the off when the less experienced jockey took the horse the wrong way down to the start. Sadly those additional furlongs on the way down to the start put pay to his chances. After a trio of disappointing efforts he’s on a very attractive looking handicap mark and is sure to capitalise soon enough, especially as the horse is owned by the trainers grandson (his new syndicate) Preferred Trip: 7f - 1m1f
Preferred Ground: Any
HARROVIAN (3yo)
Trainer: J Gosden
Last Run: Newmarket - 16th May This Leroidesanimaux bred colt made his debut at Newmarket last month over a ten furlong trip. A belated opening appearance on the track at the age of three but this horse has tonnes of scope for improvement. A very encouraging second placed effort behind a nice looking Roger Varian colt who had already had the benefit of two former runs to his name. Now with racing experience under his belt this lightly raced youngster has all the credentials to do very well this term. Preferred Trip: 1m - 1m4f Preferred Ground: Any
DUKE OF YORKSHIRE (9yo)
Trainer: T Eastebry
Last Run: Doncaster - 8th April Making his seasonal reappearance last month he finished stone last but with the winter cobwebs now shaken off you can certainly expect a much better performance going forward, especially if the nine year old is stepped up in trip. Understandably at his age his best years are behind him however he still travelled nicely enough in his last run and if he's found an easy race should have enough left in the locker to go close. Preferred Trip: 1m3f - 1m6f Preferred Ground: Good or Firmer
RORY AND ME (4yo)
Trainer: M Hammond
Last Run: Market Rasen - 10th May Yes, Flat racing takes precedent at this time of year but this four year old is worth keeping an eye on. Making his racecourse debut in a NH Flat race this Micky Hammond trained gelding was far from fancied. Going off as a 16/1 outsider not many expected a decent run however he put pay to an eight runner field quite cosily. The race was far from a star studied affair and only time will tell how good the horse will be but based on what he's shown he could make up into a nice horse. Preferred Trip: Any
