Idris Elba finally returns to our screens as the grizzled murder detective Luther, the maverick policeman who seems to spend his life on a violent collision course with the criminal underworld.

A new spate of ghastly crimes has DCI John Luther back on the streets.

However, as the body count rises, gangster George Cornelius adds more troubles to Luther’s already crowded plate, meaning he has to catch the killer if he is to save his own neck.

Wunmi Mosaku joins the cast as new recruit DS Catherine Halliday, while Cold Feet star Hermione Norris plays psychiatrist Dr Vivien Lake, who is drafted in to assist our hero.
