There are mixed emotions as Nick returns this week: Gail is glad to see him back, but she is still ready and eager to give him an earful about turning his back on his family. He promises to speak to Leanne, and when Toyah sees the pair talking, she pounces, accusing Nick of leaving Leanne in the lurch when she needed him the most. Round at No.8, Nick is shocked to learn that David did time for beating up Gary, and Sarah tells him he’d know these things if he was around more often. Feeling suitably guilty, Nick resolves to win Leanne back, but how far will he go to make amends?

Vicky is enjoying her time at the factory, winding up the other sta and being a general nuisance. Peter knows she’s a ecting the other girls’ work, but there’s nothing he can do about it without putting Simon in danger. Peter bans mobile phones at work in a bid to calm them all down, but when Sinead gets a call about her biopsy results and Vicky tries to snatch her phone, a ght breaks out and Peter is forced to suspend both of the women for a week. Sinead returns home to Daniel, who has great news – he has been o ered a place on a Master’s course, but he feels the timing isn’t right due to her pregnancy. Sinead tells him he has to accept the place and they’ll make it work. But later, when she nds out she has cervical cancer and that the medical recommenda­tion is that she has an abortion, will she be able to tell him? Back at the factory, Fiz and Izzy make it clear that they won’t return to work while Vicky is still there and hearing news of her suspension, Simon is horri ed as he knows Tyler, her son, will hear all about it.

e police have some di cult questions for Ali when they learn he was present when Cormac died, and that he may know something about the crash involving Ronan. Ali answers all their questions, but when the o cers ask him about a gun they found in Ronan’s car, he stumbles but denies any knowledge. Back at home, Michelle returns to nd Ali has packed his bags, but will he leave?

A er everything that has happened, Liz is determined to leave Jenny in her dust, so she puts on her Sunday best, paints on a brave face and walks straight into the Rovers, leaving Johnny looking nervous. Angie lies to Jude about having a business meeting and decides to head o on a date with a man she met online. However, when Roy tells Jude he has been selected for a Good Samaritan award later, Angie suggests they go out to dinner to celebrate and apologises for going on the date behind his back.
