Not without her daughter

-

If two is company, four is definitely a crowd as Marlon and Jessie’s honeymoon gets underway. They have decided to spend time in Belfast, but Marlon is worried about Paddy, who is preoccupied with thinking about Bear Wolf, the wrestler he thinks is his dad. To take his mind off things, Chas suggests that Paddy should plan Marlon’s honeymoon.

While looking up activities, he discovers that Bear Wolf will also be touring in Belfast. Chas catches him on Bear Wolf ’s website and Paddy admits he’s thinking of following him to Belfast, before asking Marlon if he can tag along on his honeymoon. There may be one more joining the getaway as Jessie is approached by Kerry, who wants to travel to Northern Ireland in search of her daughter, Amy. Jessie refuses, but is stunned to hear that Marlon has already agreed to let Paddy tag along.

She relents and texts Kerry to let her know she’s welcome to join as well, and soon all four of them head off to Belfast. Things don’t go smoothly on arrival as there is a problem with their accommodation. However, Jessie warms to Kerry when she talks about finding Amy. As Kerry heads out in search of her daughter, and Paddy looks for Bear Wolf, will they find what they’re looking for? Meanwhile, Jacob seethes as Maya and David plan a romantic night together. Overcome by jealousy, Jacob plans to sabotage their night and manages to make David late. Maya tells David not to bother coming, but she has no intention of spending the night alone.

Elsewhere, Aaron is forging ahead with his surrogacy plans. Robert is preoccupied with work, so Aaron sneaks off and meets potential surrogate, Lucie. He takes to her instantly, but panics when he hears she’s looking for couples for her next surrogacy, and rushes ahead with his plans – without Robert’s consent. Robert is ecstatic about a contract he’s won, though Aaron is strangely quiet.

Liv is worried that Aaron mentioned nothing about the surrogacy, but agrees to keep it to herself for the time being. Aaron still needs a cash deposit, and eyes up the money from Robert’s contract. Plus, Friday’s episode is a special edition marking International Women’s Day, and was written, produced and directed by a female-led crew.

It follows almost all of the show’s female characters across individual stories. Laurel and Chas are bonded over a shared secret, while Rhona, still struggling over her feelings for Pete, finds herself with an unlikely confidante.
