The Invisible Man (Universal) Writer-director Leigh Whannell’s revamp of the 1933 horror classic has little of the campness of that James Whale yarn, focusing instead on the malevolent possibilities associated with the power of invisibility. Elisabeth Moss delivers a career-high big-screen performance as a young woman tiptoeing her way out of a controlling relationship with abusive boyfriend, Adrian (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). Unfortunately, she has reckoned without her ex-boyfriend’s scientific expertise, unlimited funds and unhinged mind. The Invisible Man is a cracking horror yarn that owes little to HG Wells and everything to thrillers such as Sleeping With The Enemy (1991) and Gaslight (1944). Bonus features include a feature commentary with writer/director

Leigh Whannell, deleted scenes, plus a featurette on leading lady, Elisabeth Moss.
