Cross-country in Rathcormac
THE County Sligo Primary Schools Cross Country Championships took place last Saturday in Rathcormac. There were races for boys and girls in two grades, Junior (third and fourth class) and Senior (fifth and sixth class).
Individuals and teams qualified for the Connacht Primary Schools Cross Country Championships which take also place at Rathcormac later this month (Saturday, October 23). Rathcormac National School and Strandhill’s Scoil Asicus Naofa dominated last Saturday’s team categories, with Ransboro National School, Our Lady of Mercy Primary School (Pearse Road, Sligo) and Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré also featuring in the top three teams at either Junior or Senior level. Along with those who have qualified as part of winning teams, there were a number of individual qualifiers.
