€925k investment announced for public marine infrastructure projects in Sligo
MINISTER Charlie McConalogue has announced the approval of €925,225 in funding for seven
Sligo coastal projects.
In total. €32.7 million in funding for 110 projects around the coast of Ireland was announced on Monday. The scheme is proposed for funding under the EU Brexit Adjustment Reserve.
The costs of projects approved for Sligo is €1,088,500, the total amount of money approved is €925,225.
The Minister encouraged local authorities such as Sligo County Council to focus on delivery of their seven approved projects outlined in the funding announcement.

“The funding is only available until the end of 2023 and this is a unique opportunity to reinvigorate our public marine infrastructure.”
The seven projects approved for funded in Sligo are as follows: Replacement of Bungar Buoy, €26,350; Pullaheeney Pier replacement of navigation lights, €31,875; Inishmurray Island provision of new and safe landing platform, €416,500; Sligo Harbour structural repairs, provision of welfare facilities, €76,500; Mullaghmore Harbour, masonry walls repair, replacement of navigation light, handrails and ladders, €212,500; Easkey seaward wall repair and protection, €136,000; Pollnadivva Pier safety measures, provision of vehicle barriers and some handrails, €25,500.
