-

GARDAI are seeking the public’s help following the death of a man last Thursday in Sligo town. Russell Forde (39) of Yeats Drive, Cranmore, Sligo town, died in Beaumont Hospital on Thursday last following an incident at Rockwood Parade in the town.

The circumstances of the incident are the subject of a garda investigation.

Mr Forde was treated at the scene for what is understood to have been a head injury and removed to Sligo University Hospital.

He was then brought to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he passed away.

The results of a post mortem, which was carried out on the deceased, will now determine the course of the investigation. Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Anyone who was in the area of the incident on April 19 between 5pm and 6.15pm, is asked to come forward.

Anyone who may have camera or dash cam footage, is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
