GAA IN SCHOOLS: The children of Achonry National School were treated to a visit from past pupils and Connacht under-17 champions

Conor Johnston and Eoghan Scanlon last week who brought along the Kilcoyne Cup. Tommy and Rosaleen Kilcoyne were also present as guests where Tommy had the opportunit­y to speak about the history of the cup named after his late father, Tom. Also on the day, the Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena GAA Club made a presentati­on of €500 worth of footballs and gear to the children of the school as an example of their commitment to promoting Gaelic Games in our local schools. ACHONRY FARMERS’ MARKET: Great to see the return of the fish stall at the market along with other weekly favorites. Please continue to support this great amenity within our community.
