Sligo Sling Meet at Costa Coffee

The first Sligo Sling Meet of 2023 takes place at Costa Coffee in Carraroe Retail Park at 10am on Friday, February 10.

Have a cuppa and a chat in a peer to peer setting about all things baby-wearing.

Our volunteers are passionate about sharing this parenting tool and about guiding caregivers and their little ones to get the most out of their babywearin­g experience.

Super Reds Open Day

An open day will take place at The Showground­s on Saturday, February 11 for Sligo Rovers youngest members.

The event is open to all children aged 12 and under who are already members of the club’s Super Reds. Children in attendance will get to take part in a training session led by first team players and coaches who will then be available for photograph­s and autographs at the end of the training session.

Super Reds will also receive their season tickets and a training top on the day. The Open Day takes place from 3pm until 4.30pm.

Top of the Toffs at Lola Montez

Lola Montez nightclub is winding the clock back again in February as it hosts another ‘Top of the Toffs’ night on Friday, February 10.

The Pound Street Boys and DJ Scruffy Duffy will provide the tunes for this Valentine’s special where attendees can expect more than just a little taste of the best of 80s music! Tickets are available on www. eventbrite.ie.

Funds raised on the night are in aid of North West STOP, Parkinson’s Ireland North West and Sligo Cancer Support Centre.

Doors open at 9pm. Admission is for ages 23 and over.

Artists coffee morning

A coffee morning for artists will take place at the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Friday, February 10 at 11am. All artists welcome – designers, makers, performers, make up artists, writers, videograph­ers, directors, photograph­ers, production wizards, and the like.

Come and have a cuppa and a chat, meet other artists, connect and share ideas.

This event is an opportunit­y to meet with like-minded people in a relaxed setting. You will also have a chance to meet with staff members of the Hawk’s Well to find out more about how we develop our work and work with artists.

Artists of all levels of experience welcome.

This coffee morning is hosted by artist-in-residence Miriam Needham and will be lightly structured, to facilitate people to swap tables and therefore get to meet and chat with as many others as possible.

Sligo Harriers Hunt Ball

The Sligo Harriers Hunt Ball will take place in Castle Dargan Hotel on Saturday, February 18, at 7pm.

Rovers Supporters Trust meeting

The Bit O’Red Supporters Trust is holding a meeting at The Showground­s tonight, Thursday at 7.30pm.

This is a follow-up to a meeting held last week aiming to bring more supporters on board as volunteers with the club ahead of the new League of Ireland season.

90s disco at Anderson’s

On Friday, February 3, the Mercy College Parents Associatio­n is organising a 90s disco at Anderson’s Grill & Bar.

Funds raised from this event will go towards an astro pitch at the Mercy College Sligo.

This full-emersion 90s music event will host 90s Dublin band ‘Pump up the Jam’ as well as DJ Trolley and DJ Joe 90 over both dance floors. The event begins at 9pm.

Theatre auditions at The Nest

The Know Promises Theatre Collective is holding open auditions in the style of a group workshop on Monday, February 6 at the Nest from 6pm.

There the upcoming project of the collective which takes place in March will be discussed.

This will be the second of two workshop auditions for actor/dancers with some experience in physical theatre.

Wear comfortabl­e clothes to move in and bring water!

This project is for participan­ts that are 18 years and older.
