Texters reach out from all around Ireland, about everything from being at the height of a panic attack, being bullied at school, having relationsh­ip issues, and experienci­ng suicidal thoughts. Volunteers provide a safe space for texters to express and explore how they are feeling and support them to reach a point of calm. Minimum hours: Training 30 hours over six weeks, then a 2-4 hour commitment per week as a volunteer.

The board of the Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim Education and Training Board has announced the appointmen­t of Tom Grady as its new chief executive. Tommie has been in the role of acting chief executive in recent years and Councillor Mary Bohan chair of MSLETB Board said she was delighted`to officially announce Tom Grady as the new CEO. Tom from Kilfree, Gurteen is wished all the best in his new role. Well done Tommie.
