JUNIOR CYCLE RESULTS:
Congratulations to all our students who received their fantastic Junior Cert results on Wednesday, October 18, well done to each and every one of you, you should be very proud of your achievements.
Our Green Schools Committee heightened our awareness of reducing our carbon emissions by encouraging our students to partake in the Green Schools ‘Walk to School week’ from October 2 to October 6.
Our student council received their initial training and look forward to further training over the coming weeks.
GREEN SCHOOLS: STUDENT COUNCIL:
Fifth year Irish students enjoyed a trip to see the drama ‘An Triail’ at the Hawkswell Theatre, Sligo with their teachers.

We were absolutely thrilled to be announced Ocean FM Sports Awards School of the Year 2023 at the inaugural event on Saturday, October 14 in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Sligo. This is a testament to all the hard work by students and so many of our teachers who coach and train all our teams in so many sports and competitions, we are so very proud of you all.
The schools athletes travelled to TUS Athlone on
12th October to compete in the Connacht school Combined Events, congratulations to all who represented the school, well done.
SPORT: ATHLETICS: BOYS BASKETBALL:St.
Attracta’s have for the first time in the history of the school have boys’ basketball teams competing in the Basketball Ireland Schools Competition, our Under-16 and Under-19 teams have played matches against, St. Nathys College, Ballaghaderreen, Colaiste Mhuire, Ballymote and St. Colemans, Claremorris. Well done to the lads and their coach.
The u16 and u19 girls are busy training and have played to date Mohill CC, Abbey CC, Boyle and St. Nathys College, Ballaghaderreen, with the U16’s so far on a winning streak of three wins, keep up the
GIRLS BASKETBALL:
The Junior girls had a very convincing win away in the league against a very strong Scared Heart Wesport team. The Senior girls
The Junior and Senior teams are steadily training and have a number of challenge games as they prepare for league and championship after the midterm break. The juvenile team have begun their league campaign, with two games played to date and continue to train hard.
The TY students have had lots of activity to keep them busy. Great fun was had by all when the ‘Sheep dog Trials’ arrived at the school, working with animals and trying to get their cooperation was a great fun experience enjoyed by all the students.
The History teachers brought students for a day out to the Hawkswell to see a play on
Irish History and then had a historical guided tour of Sligo town. From the 12th –19th October the forensics were on site when our TY students enjoyed all day workshops in CSI, a lot of knowledge gained by the students.
