CARRAROE COMMUNITY GARDA:

Garda Mark Connor is now the assigned Community Garda for the Carraroe area. Mark can be contacted at Sligo Garda Station on 0719157000. You can leave a message and Mark will call you as soon as possible and if necessary, he will visit you. Should you have any concerns appropriat­e to An Garda Siochana you can communicat­e with Mark directly. If an emergency you should call 999 or 112.

This text group has been establishe­d to assist organising the community and giving informatio­n on any activities in the wider Carraroe area. Anyone interested joining the text group can send a text to 0872222835 and you will be added to the group.

A parking and traffic management protocol is agreed by Board of Management, Residents, Parents Associatio­n and Sligo County Council and is in place for a number of years. The purpose is to assist in ensuring easier flow of traffic around the school area. Parents are requested to observe the arrangemen­t in interest of all.

SCHOOL PARKING PROTOCOL: BOTTLE/CAN BANKS IN CARRAROE:

We want to highlight this facility is for Community use and not for use by commercial businesses. We want to thank residents of Carraroe for the respectful use of the Recycling Banks to date. Do not leave rubbish beside the bins. Please note the facility is monitored by recorded CCTV. 24/7.

We are appealing to all Carraroe residents to join the campaign to reduce use of paper, packaging and recycle as much as possible. Your efforts no matter how small will assist the environmen­t and reduce our national carbon footprint. Remember every little individual effort counts. Promote the campaign by displaying Carraroe car sticker available from 0892459123.

REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE:

We will be looking at electing a new Parish Council in the Parish later this year. Those who can vote must be registered in the Parish. Also, the Parish Community Centre needs a new committee. -further details later.

CARRAROE PARISH NEWS:

We are working on forming a Youth Choir in the Parish. The invitation will be extended to sixth class and beyond to take part in this choir. Local parishione­rs and some members of the school staff will help with the project. Further informatio­n will be available later in the month.

YOUTH CHOIR: SENIORS ALARM SCHEME:

CADRA would urge all eligible residents to avail of the scheme as it a great comfort and support to people. Anyone over 65 is eligible. Anyone that already has the alarm is advised to wear the pendent at all times including in shower (as its water proof) and bed.

Our sincerest condolence­s to the families and friends of the late Rory Quinn of Ballina Road, Enniscrone, who passed peacefully at home on November 12 surrounded by his loving family. Predecease­d by his parents Joan and Tom.

Rory will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his wife Joan, his children Deirdre, Áine, Ciarán, Siobhán, and Niamh.

We would like to thank the staff of the West Sligo Family Resource Centre Enniscrone, the sponsors of all prizes donated, the ladies who baked for us, sold tickets, and helped out in any way. Thanks to all to came and donated their time and money for our Coffee morning in aid of Northwest Hospice, thank you to Sylvie who provided the music for us on the day, we raised a whooping €556.60.

KILGLASS ENNISCRONE PARISH:

Thank you from Trocaire for the €5345.95 donated by the parish of Kilglass during lent this year. The money will be used to support all those who are struggling to survive the aftermath of Somalia’s drought and hunger crisis.

Enniscrone Bingo Tuesday, November 21 at 8pm in the Old Church, Enniscrone, proceeds to Western Gaels Hurling Club, come along and support our club and have lots of fun.

Kilglass National School Parents Associatio­n hosted a quiz night in the Hilltop Pub Culleens, on Saturday, November 11. Thank you to everyone who came out and took part, a special thanks to Billy Varley for being our compare and hosting the night. BINGO: QUIZ NIGHT: KILGLASS-ENNISCRONE PARISH NEWS:

November Mass Offering Envelopes will be available from both churches within the next few days. Please pick up an envelope at any time from the church, it contains a piece of paper on which you can write the names of all your deceased loved ones. You can then return the envelope to the church and the list will remain on the altar for all Masses throughout the month of November.

Saint Muredach’s Cathedral choir is performing Handel’s Messiah under the direction of Regina Deacy in Saint Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina on Saturday November 11 at 8pm. The Cathedral choir will be joined for this choral masterpiec­e by members of Westport-based

“Cór Mhaigh Eo”, along with a profession­al chamber orchestra and soloists. This performanc­e is also part of Ballina 2023 celebratio­ns. All proceeds go to the restoratio­n of the stained-glass windows in Saint Muredach’s Cathedral.

Bridge played Wednesday nights in Enniscrone Golf Club at 7pm. All welcome.
