Sligo County Board presents Ceol an Gheimridh Sligeach on Saturday, March 2 in Riverstown. Entry forms can be found on sligocount­yfleadh.ie or from branch secretarie­s. Closing date for entries is Wednesday, February 7. Eligibilit­y to enter: Entrants must be fully paid-up members of Comhaltas for the year. Entrants must be under 14 years old. There are two age groups. Under 11 and 11 to 14. January 1 of the year will be regarded as the qualifying date in respect of age limit. Solo qualifiers to Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023 (from the Connnacht Fleadh 2023) are ineligible to compete in Ceol an Gheimhridh in the category in which they competed in Fleadh na hEireann. Riverstown Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann presents Keelan McGrath, Leah Grealish, Jack McGrath and Caithlín McGrath in concert on Saturday, February 10 in the Morrison Cottage, Riverstown at 8.30pm. Admission is €15 and refreshmen­ts will be served. With special guest dancers from Bróga Bríomhar Dance School.

In the Tubbercurr­y shop they need volunteers who can help out on Saturday, for a few hours between 10 and 5 and we need people Tuesday - Friday afternoons also between 1.45pm and 5.30pm - they can be flexible regarding your availabili­ty within these times.

If you have an interest in retail or customer service, want to help your local community and become a part of the largest charity organisati­on in Ireland then they need you!

Crisis Volunteers support texters to the 24/7 free crisis text line, via their laptops from the comfort of their homes. Text About It 50808 is a textbased non-judgementa­l listening service. Texters reach out from all around Ireland, about everything from being at the height of a panic attack, being bullied at school, having relationsh­ip issues, and experienci­ng suicidal thoughts. Volunteers provide a safe space for texters to express and explore how they are feeling and support them to reach a point of calm. Miniumum hours: Training 30 hours over 6 weeks, then a 2-4 hour commitment per week as a volunteer.

Tubbercurr­y Active Retirement Associatio­n has now planned its January/

Easter programme. Our Exercise, Bowling, Curling, Yoga, and Book Club sessions will continue as usual as will our weekly Tuesday Social get-togethers in Teach Laighne. Outings planned are to the Hawkswell for Musical, ‘ Singing in the Rain'; Forest Walk plus Lunch in Murphy's Hotel, and a Three act play during the Western Drama Festival. New members are very welcome - membership is only €12p.a. Arrangemen­ts for our Annual June Holiday are now finalised, visiting North Kerry with tours of its beautiful scenic areas, historical sites, towns, seaside resorts etc. Based in the Manor

West Hotel, Tralee from June 23rd to June 28th, it will include Dinner, Bed and Breakfast, travel by JMG luxury coach, all tours and entry fees. Total cost is €600 per person sharing and €25 extra per night for a single room. A limited number of single rooms being available. Booking fee of
