Dancing at Lughnasa

Following their success of The Cripple of Inishmaan last year, Templeboy based amateur drama group “Windmill Players” are back with a production of Brian Friel’s Dancing At Lughnasa.

“Dancing at Lughnasa” is a poignant play by Brian Friel set in 1930s rural Ireland.

The story revolves around the five Mundy sisters, living together in their family home.

The arrival of their brother Jack, a missionary returning from Africa, disrupts their routine and brings memories of happier times. As the sisters navigate love, loss, and longing, they find solace in traditional Irish dance, particularly during the festival of Lughnasa. The play explores themes of family bonds, societal changes, and the fleeting moments of joy amidst life’s struggles.

Directed by Joe Burns the play will run from February 29 until the March 3 at Dromore West Community Centre.

Show starts at 8pm. Tickets available from Costcutters, Little Scissors and Carrolls Butchers or by contacting 0877908173.
