GETTING THERE

IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT EVERYONE WHO COMES TO BLOOM HAS THE VERY BEST EXPERIENCE, BORD BIA HAS COMPILED A LIST OF TOP TIPS.

A guide to all of the transport options including trains, buses, shuttle buses to the site and details of facilities and services for people with special needs.

TRAVELLING TO BLOOM

Bloom takes place in the Visitor Centre of the Phoenix Park, Dublin which is situated on the main Chesterfie­ld Avenue road running from the Main Gate at Parkgate Street to the Castleknoc­k Gate. Please note that the Ashtown Gate will be closed for the duration of the Bloom event.

Travel options to Bloom include: FREE BUSES:

Powered by Pinergy, a number of courtesy shuttle buses will run from Park Gate Street to Bloom and back, from 8.30am to 7pm daily

LUAS:

Please stay tuned to the Luas strike updates, currently planned for Thursday June 2 - a 4-hour stoppage (3 pm—7 pm) and Friday 3rd June - a 4-hour stoppage (9 am—1 pm). For those who can take the Luas, travel to the Heuston stop and then avail of the free shuttle bus from Parkgate Street

TRAIN:

Again those who arrive by train can avail of a free shuttle bus to Bloom. And with a valid Iarnrod Eireann ticket or Smartcard, visitors can get €2 off ticket prices

DUBLIN BUS:

The 46a leaves you to the North Circular Road Gate. Please note, it is a 30-minute walk from here to the site.

ON FOOT:

Chesterfie­ld Avenue is the Pedestrian Entrance to Bloom. It takes approximat­ely 20 minutes to walk from either Parkgate Street or Castleknoc­k Gate to the Bloom event.

BY BICYCLE:

It is possible to cycle right up to the Bloom event site and cyclists can avail of free facilities to park and lock their bikes.

BY CAR:

Parking is available at a daily rate of €5. There are two car parks available for those who wish to drive.

RED CAR PARK A:

Serving City Centre Traffic from the Main Gate to the Phoenix Park (Parkgate Street) and the NCR Gate. Once you enter the Phoenix Park, follow the signs for the Red Car park

GREEN CAR PARK B:

Serving both City Centre / NCR traffic North City & M50 Traffic from the Castleknoc­k Gate and White’s Gate. Once you enter the Phoenix Park, follow the signs for the Green Car park

DISABILITI­ES & SPECIAL NEEDS

Disabled car parking is available close to the entrance in each car park. Disability parking stickers must be displayed in a visible position to ensure stewards on site can direct visitors to the dedicated parking areas.

One companion is admitted free of charge per wheelchair user, visually impaired visitor or other person whose disability necessitat­es a carer.

Shop Mobility will provide wheelchair­s for your visit to Bloom, for a small returnable deposit. There is no facility to pre-book wheelchair­s for Bloom 2016 and we would advise customers who require wheelchair facilities to arrive early to avoid disappoint­ment.

PREPARING FOR THE WEATHER

Bord Bia remain hopeful that the sun will shine for Bloom and has set up free water points where visitors can fill their bottles. In addition, there are three acres of marquee covered space to provide shade (or keep out of the rain!).

ADDITIONAL BLOOM FACILITIES

It is important to note that there will be two mobile ATM points at Bloom located beside organiser’s office and within the Food Village. Due to high numbers of visitors, please expect to queue. Organisers recommend that those planning to purchase goods at the show should bring money with them. WiFi points will also be available across the site and these will be clearly marked. Disability toilets, a babychangi­ng and feeding facility and a medical centre will all be on site and clearly marked on the event map. The compliment­ary Plant Crèche sponsored by BOSCH ensures that those who make floral purchases won’t have to carry them around all day but can leave them in a secure location to be collected before they leave. Customer Care Points: Bord Bia’s Bloom ambassador­s will be located at various points throughout the event to help with any queries.

TICKETS

Tickets are on sale now on Ticketmast­er and can also be purchased on arrival. Ticket prices vary from €15 – 20 and children go free.

NEW APP

Bord Bia has launched a new Bloom app – available to download now. The Bloom app includes all the of the stage schedules, lists of exhibitors and will be updated throughout the show.
