Galway Bay Brewery, with nigh on a dozen pubs including Against the Grain and the Gasworks, has turned the former Murphy’s pub into hipster heaven, with 19 different draught beers as well as pies from the Pieman of Temple Bar. Think steak and stout pie, plus sausages and a daily hotpot. Your dog will love this place, too.

A former branch of Mickey D’s has been transforme­d into a super casual seafood restaurant with great industrial-style decor. The spanking fresh fish comes straight from Dunmore East and Kilmore Quay each day, as owner Colin O’Shea also has a fish wholesaler­s, and O’Shea’s Fish & Chips in Dunmore East, Co Waterford.
