FLYING HIGH

City in the Sky, BBC2, 9pm Dallas Campbell and Hannah Fry investigate the effort it takes to ensure that planes land safely in the final episode of the series. It’s not something most fliers want to think about — we’re happy so long as we reach our destination in one piece. For example, there are only 26 pilots in the world who are qualified to land at Paro Airport in Bhutan, and Dallas gets a bird’s-eye view in the cockpit with one of them. It’s a white knuckle ride to the airstrip that’s planted in between some very, very high, scary mountains. Elsewhere, Hannah meets the air traffic controllers at Atlanta airport, the busiest in the world, who help land up to 1,000 craft on a daily basis.

The UK goes to the polls this week to vote on whether or not to remain within the European Union. Following prominent #Brexit campaigner Michael Gove last week, British Prime Minister David Cameron, who is campaigning for a remain vote, takes questions from an audience.
