The Big C & Me, BBC1, 9pm The series concludes its sobering look at the effects of cancer on its victims by following three more people. Trainee vicar Kathy may get on to a clinical trial for a new treatment for her melanoma, but there could be tough side-effects. Mark’s bowel cancer is terminal. At only 33, he’s desperate to live long enough to see his son start school. Finally, self-employed painter and decorator Steve is desperate for his life to return to normal, but suffers a setback on his recovery.

Flat TV, BBC2, 11.50pm It’s the last in the series focusing on flatmates Tom and Naz, who like many young people in sitcoms, seem to live in a flat to die for with no visible means of support. The trick here are the constant cutaways to stars in other TV programme formats commentating on the characters’ lives as if they were important. Tonight, Tom agrees to look after a young tearaway to impress a gorgeous new neighbour.
