Gear, but Michel Roux Jr has done a more than capable job of stepping into the chef ’s whites of James Martin here, helped by chefs Wolfgang Puck and Rosie Birkett. The successful recipe of a large dollop of live cooking, a handful of clips from the food archive and a sprinkling of celebrity stardust, washed down with choices from wine expert Peter Richards, is a satisfying morning course. Plus, guest, 80s pop legend Rick Astley chooses food heaven or hell.

SOMe MUSICal InSPIraTIO­n Guitar Star, Sky1, 8pm

The second episode of Sky’s search for the best unsung axe hero or heroine in Ireland or Britain sees judge George Benson centre stage. The 10-times Grammy Award-winning jazz guitarist and singer knows a thing or two about holding an audience’s attention. Here, he dispenses a few tips on stagecraft, before taking the contestant­s along to the legendary Ronnie Scott’s jazz bar in London on a night out to pick up some more tips.

GaMeSHOW HIlarITY Taskmaster, Dave, 10pm

If you missed the start of this new series during the week, one of the two tallest men on television, Greg Davies, helms this gameshow in which he gets to lord it over comedians by setting them amusing and tough tasks. As an ex-teacher, he has a great line in the condescend­ing look of scorn when a minion fails. TV’s other tallest man, Richard Osman from Pointless, is joined by Katherine Ryan, Jon Richardson, Doc Brown and Joe Wilkinson.
