House rocks as thesps, media darlings and showbiz luvvies go out on the town
Married couples going out together at the weekends? Whatever will they think of next?
Alan Hughes and Karl Broderick — for it is they — were in House on Leeson Street last weekend. (Men about the House?)
The TV3 star who the nation wakes up to every morning, and his producer husband were in on Saturday night for a drink.
They were later joined by their friend, radio presenter Matt Dempsey, who was celebrating with friends in the establishment’s Red Room.
Meanwhile, Bono, who is practically wedded to Simon Carmody (only joking, Ali) was in Farrier & Draper in the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre on South William Street with Simon and Guggi et al two Saturday nights ago.
They left at around 2am, having quite possibly had a lively evening in the tres trendy emporium on Saturday night.
But then every night is Saturday night for the Simon Carmody Community, isn’t it? But back to House. The acting community of Fair City were in the venue last Friday. Arriving at midnight, the groovy gang of thesps included George McMahon, Jenny Dixon and Patrick Bull.
Earlier that night, selfdescribed premier tenor of Ireland (according to his official website) Paul Byrom pitched up with some pals at 7pm and enjoyed drinks on House’s chicer-than-chic terrace.
I hope for House’s bank balance that the premier tenor spent more than a tenner on the night. Can I go now? I need to lie down in a quiet, darkened room.
