OLD FOLK ON THE LOOSE

A Granny’s Guide to the Modern World, C4, 10.30pm New comedy series in which legendary Australian comedian Barry Humphries leads a team of old folk trying to make sense of the 21st century. Bobby, who’s 94, tries to get his head around the concept of political correctnes­s, and its importance in racial issues. Laura tries out a few of the more colourful swear words, while Trish, Margot and Daphne play violent video games, then vel Amsterdam legally high on marijuana for the first time in their lives. It will be an eye-opener.

Gogglebox: Brexit Special, C4, 9pm The recent political events in Britain after the Brexit vote have had people tuning into the news in record numbers, trying to make sense of the vote and the subsequent GUBU events at Westminste­r, including the resignatio­n of Prime Minister David Cameron. Who better to guide us through it than the best couch potatoes in the business? What do the viewers make of the drama that has been unfolding on an almost daily basis?

ON THE MEAN STREETS

Chicago PD, RTE2, 9pm An explosive double bill concludes the first series of the police procedure and continues its crossover with the more establishe­d Chicago Fire. Both department­s are on the trail of the mastermind behind a bombing campaign – and in the second episode tonight, the precinct commander bangs heads and demands that notorious gang boss Pulpo is brought to justice.
