The person

My father-in-law is very special. He is one of a kind. I am blessed with both my mother-in-law and father-in-law. I adore them

The memory

‘It’s a girl!’

The moment of the day

Dinner time. When I’m with my husband, Peter, and our daughters, Emelia and Romy, and we are all chatting about our day

The song

Every song on the Hats album by The Blue Nile. Peter introduced me to the band when we were dating. They played at our wedding in San Sebastian

The movie

Life is Beautiful, directed by Roberto Benigni — it makes me laugh and cry in equal measure. Also, you can’t beat Grease for nostalgia and a reason to dance!

The hero

Adi Roche — a truly, selfless, beautiful person

The book

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak — so brilliantly written and beautifully told. It is the only book that has made me physically cry; sob, in fact

The outfit

By day, my grey Monaghans Cashmere cardi coat, J Brand jeans, Isabel Marant T-shirt and biker boots. By night, my red Tom Ford dress from BTs

The accessory

My Aria-V jewellery

The gadget

My little sister Tori, who is a hairdresser, discovered a heated hairbrush called Dafni, which has saved my holiday hair for ever more. I won’t leave home without it. She loved it so much, she became the distributor in Ireland — see torikeane.com

The pet hate

Bad manners

The friend

My long-suffering hubby, Peter!

The beauty product

The entire Jan Marini skincare range; and Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream as an everyday lip balm. It’s also fantastic for healing blemishes, cuts, and dry skin

The holiday

San Sebastian — where the love of my life and I first went on holidays, and consequently got married. It ticks all the boxes for us. It’s a beautiful city with great restaurants and shops, but it’s also on the beach. It has more Michelin-starred restaurants per capita than anywhere else in the world The piece of advice My dad always told me, ‘If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life’, and my mum always said, ‘There is always room in the world for a nice person’. I am blessed with two incredible parents who reared, educated and spoilt seven children. We are all very close. My mum and dad made so many sacrifices for us The drink Chateau La Coste Grand Vin Rose The hotel The Dean hotel in Dublin; Claridge’s in London; Fitzpatrick’s in New York The bar The Coburg Bar at The Connaught Hotel, London The hobby Designing my own clothes The part of my body My feet — they are very small, which means I can buy shoes in the children’s department, and there are always lots to chose from in the sales The celebrity Bono — a true gentleman with a huge heart . . . who also happens to be the biggest rock star in the world! The virtue Being grateful. I realise how lucky I am. It is very important to me to help others and I constantly remind our girls of the need to help those less fortunate than ourselves. The vice Butlers coffee with a salted caramel on the side The smell Fig-scented candles; Jo Malone Grapefruit Cologne . . . actually, most Jo Malone scents The taste Rasam’s mango prawn curry
