TRIONA’S TRENDS

I’ve always been totally obsessed with glowy, ‘lit from within’ skin. While most peeps kept highlighter for special occasions or night-time, I’d be buffing that shizz on like a maniac. Now we’re not talking disco balls here; think fresh, dewy, illuminated skin. And that, my friends, is one of the biggest trends this season. So come on, glow with me! The key to getting this look right is to use naturallooking products, so don’t use anything with glitter, as it’s ageing, and it tends to settle in lines.

Start with something like Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Morning Aura Illuminating Creme, €82, Brown Thomas. This is part moisturiser, part brightening primer, with micro-pearls to instantly illuminate. It’s a multi-purpose product, so you can wear it alone or under make-up, or even to refresh and brighten. I also adore the packaging. The gold container is ’ribbed’ —for your plesh! Why did I write that? Because it makes me giggle!

Now if you have wads of cash, go and get the new Sisley Sisleya Le Teint Foundation, left, €121. It’s the biz. It’d want to be, says you! Powered by the same botanical complex used in their other award-winning products, it claims to instantly perfect the skin, but also to work to improve skin over time.

Finally, a highlighter powder. Hmm, so many I love! What to choose here? I’m going with Laura Mercier’s Shimmer Bloc, above right, €45, as this is a multi-purpose product, and we all know how much I love those! It’s a highlighter, bronzer and blush all in one. The sections can be swirled together, or used individually.
