I picked up my 94-year-old granny, Julia, and we went sunbathing in Kinvara, by the sea. We always had great fun together. She had such a great sense of humour, and lived until 101 The moment of the day Hitting the beach in the morning with my dog is pretty special The song La Vida Es Un Carnaval by Celia Cruz The movie I have always loved Woody Allen, and I think my favourite film is Annie Hall. I’ve seen it a hundred times The hero My parents are my heroes. They have showed me how to be strong and courageous and to keep trying, even when things get difficult. Their west-of-Ireland no-nonsense attitude has rubbed off on me The book I recently read War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. I’d love to say it is my favourite, but it took a while to read, so I’ll say Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks is my real favourite. It’s a very gripping and moving read The outfit A raw-silk grey playsuit, which I have only worn once. I need an occasion to wear it again! I also love to wear my leather jacket and black skinny jeans The gadget I love my phone holder in my car, so I can chat away without the gardai stopping me for points! The pet hate People who can’t say sorry. I hate stubbornne­ss. I also hate when people can’t muster the energy to thank you for letting them out at a junction. I just don’t get it The friend My friend Mua Mindy. She is Ireland’s Biggest Influencer. Everybody wants to be like her. She is on Facebook and Twitter. Look her up! The beauty product I love Charlotte Tilbury make-up The holiday My trip around the world. My favourite places were Mexico and New Zealand. I felt so alive surrounded by the Mexican culture, the salsa music, the Spanish language, and the beautiful architectu­re. I also found the most spectacula­r beach, called Mazunte. If you’re travelling to Mexico, that’s a must! The piece of advice Life is not a dress rehearsal, so embrace every moment The accessory My sunglasses. They can hide a multitude! The drink A Kir Royale The hotel Monart Destinatio­n Spa, Enniscorth­y, Co Wexford. They have the most comfortabl­e beds in the world. It’s my secret escape! The bar The Merrion hotel bar is so relaxing and unpretenti­ous. It’s my favourite place in Dublin The hobby I love to surf, ideally on the west coast. The sea air and waves invigorate my soul The part of my body My mouth — I’m always doing impersonat­ions, mimicking people and trying to do every accent under the sun! The celebrity For comedic actresses, I think Tina Fey is the best there is. I also love Michael J Fox, and the tireless work he has done to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease The virtue Integrity The vice I’m not a big cheese person, but I discovered Stilton with apricots last week . . . it’s dangerous! The smell I love the smell of a log fire and a real Christmas tree The taste Italian lemonade, hand-made with fresh lemons and sparkling water
