Body Shopping RTE Player, until May 27, season 1, episode 1 Dr Ciara Kelly leads the action here, as she explores, not just the rising trend in cosmetic procedures, but also their normalisation. The first of this three-part series brought us a 25-year-old who believes a nose job will change her life; “I’m 25 and I don’t want to go anywhere or be in any photos,” she says. “I should be out enjoying myself now, not hiding away. I don’t do anything all week, I work and then I come home.” Asked what a nose job would do for her, she responded “I’d be out every weekend, I’d just be doing more... I want to get everything done and then start my life off from there.” Thereby proving that after decades of consistently preaching the message ‘life is happening now’, there are still many people waiting to start living, until they are richer, thinner, or have a better nose. Dr Kelly walks a careful line between professional curiosity and personal concern. The Irish Adverts Project ifiplayer.ie Unashamed nostalgia here — a literal trip down memory lane, with some of the finest and funniest ads ever produced in this country, featuring a few unexpected faces. There’s Terry Wogan recommending Bovril stock cubes, a young and very gorgeous Miriam O’Callaghan endorsing the creaminess of Avonmore milk, and The Dubliners singing the praises of Bass ale. There’s also an entertaining six-minute exploration of good manners in church from Radharc, including warnings against unpunctuality, noisy entrances, inappropriate attire, loud whispering of prayer and skulking at the back of the church. The IFI archive is a fantastic repository of our visual heritage, with heaps of good stuff to watch. The Restaurant TV3 Player, until May 27, Anton Savage is in the kitchen for this, the final episode of the series, and duly fashions one of the series’ most expensive-ever dishes: Dover sole with langoustines and beurre noisette.
