Historic Drogheda gate to be protected

A campaign to protect a 14th-century gate in Drogheda from being damaged by trucks has succeeded in having it closed to traffic from next week. St Laurence’s Gate is closing on August 18 and direction of traffic flow is changing around the gate and surrounding roads.
