Search for Co Clare fisherman to resume

A land, air and sea search will resume this morning in Co Clare for a man reported to have been swept into the sea while fishing on Saturday morning.

It’s understood the man was fishing in the Pulleen Bay near Doonbeg. The missing man is understood to be a Russian national in his 40s who had been living in the Limerick area. A second man raised the alarm at 9am.

The Shannon search and rescue helicopter attended the scene, and Kilkee and Doolin units of the Coast Guard were also out. The helicopter has been searching from Kilkee to Doonbeg, while the boats searched Pulleen Bay.
