Aisling never been better since split, ok?

- @RealBarryEgan

Breaking up is the new not getting back together. This wisdom comes courtesy of Aisling O’Loughlin. TV3’s Xpose star, turned website luminary, who was overheard telling someone at the swish Museum of Style Icons in Newbridge last Thursday that she and her ex Nick MacInnes are better since they broke up and that splitting up has been the making of them. “We are both happier and he sees the kids daily,” Aisling said in reference to Louis, Patrick and Joseph.

The fabulous William Doyle of Newbridge Silverware hosted a stunning supper (antipasti, supreme of chicken, assiette of desserts) at the new Carleton Cafe. The guest of honour was interior designer-to-the-stars-andpresidents, (Joan Crawford, US President Carter to name one of each), Carleton Varney, the man who designed the cafe with its jungle print chairs and blueand-white tented ceiling.

That’s blue — as in Newbridge blue. And the illustrious guests in attendance followed the theme carefully: Aisling O’Loughlin in a blue and cream Fee-Gee dress, Aoibhin Garrihy in a blue coat and Anne Doyle, whose actual nails were Newbridge Blue. Someone stop me before I go blue in the face typing this up! Meanwhile, Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice together with Bewley’s took place last ThursdayW. Hollywood star Brendan Gleeson and son Rory were at St Francis Hospice, along with Bewley’s owner Paddy Campbell and his wife Veronica, Clelia Murphy of Fair City and RTE’s former queen of the headline, Anne Doyle. Elsewhere, Lorraine Keane and Marian Finucane enjoyed a Bewley’s coffee at Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services Blackrock, and our own Dr Ciara Kelly was at Harold’s Cross, while broadcaster Marty Morrissey was in Blanchardstown.

I need a coffee. An Irish coffee. And a lie down in a dark room. Preferably not a blue one.
