THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES (2014) ITV2, 7.20pm The conclusion to Peter Jackson’s epic fantasy trilogy, starring Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman and Richard Armitage. Although the dwarves have reclaimed their homeland, the forces of evil are massing, ready to descend upon the Lonely Mountain. It is up to Bilbo to find a way to convince the troubled king Thorin that he needs to turn to men and elves for aid if they are to survive. THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE (1997) ITV4, 9pm Thriller, starring Keanu Reeves, Al Pacino and Charlize Theron. A ruthless attorney from Florida takes a high-paying job at a highprofil­e firm in New York. After moving there with his wife he grows closer to his charismati­c boss and falls deeper into his work. However, the more he does, the less he notices his wife, who is experienci­ng strange visions.

CHANGELING (2008) ITV3, 11.05pm Clint Eastwood’s drama, starring

Angelina Jolie. Five months after her son was reported missing, Christine is shocked when the LAPD reunites her with a boy. She insists that he is not her son, but they dismiss her as being hysterical. She tries to prove that the police did this intentiona­lly, but they counter by trying to silence her.

MONDAY

THE HUNGER GAMES (2012) Film4, 6.15pm Sci-fi adventure, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. In a dystopian future, a girl volunteers to take her younger sister’s place in the Hunger Games — a murderous competitio­n that sees one person from each of the country’s 12 districts attempt to outlive the others. Now she must compete in the deadly games, while learning to navigate the staged media coverage in the Capital. THE MAZE RUNNER (2014) Film4, 9pm Sci-fi action, starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario and Will Poulter. Thomas wakes up with no memory, surrounded by a group of boys of the same age. He learns from them that they have been tasked with making it through the Maze, a gigantic structure that is full of danger, and they must work together to survive, something that no one has ever done before. TERMINATOR SALVATION (2009) Sky1, 9pm Sci-fi action, starring Christian Bale, Sam Worthingto­n and Anton Yelchin. John Connor, the leader of the resistance against the robot army of Skynet, discovers that they are developing a new weapon. At the same time a stranger with an unclear past crosses paths with him, but could he know more than he is letting on? Helena Bonham Carter also stars. SE7EN (1995) ITV4, 10pm David Fincher’s cult crime thriller, starring Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow. Hot-headed rookie detective Mills is transferre­d to work with veteran Somerset on the bizarre case of the brutal murder of a morbidly obese man. Soon they connect the dots to other disturbing killings and it becomes clear that the person behind it is basing each of them around one of the seven Deadly Sins. Now they must stop him before he strikes again.

TUESDAY

ICE AGE: CONTINENTA­L DRIFT (2012) E4, 8pm Animated adventure sequel, featuring the voices of Ray Romano, Denis Leary and John Leguizamo. Just when Diego, Manny and Sid thought they were settling into the quiet life, the continent they live on cracks apart, separating them from their families. They must navigate across the sea using icebergs if they are to be reunited. THE ROAD (2009) ITV4, 12.30am John Hillcoat’s gripping drama, based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy, starring Viggo Mortensen and Kodi SmitMcPhee. A father and son travel across a post-apocalypti­c world, looking for a place where they can start over. However, they run into a band of cannibals and, after a fatal altercatio­n, must flee from their new pursuers.

WEDNESDAY

THE GREEN MILE (1999) Film4, 9pm Frank Darabont’s drama, based on the story by Stephen King, starring Tom Hanks, Michael Clarke Duncan and David Morse. Guards stationed on a penitentia­ry’s Death Row in the 1930s find themselves facing a dilemma when they get to know one of their prisoners — a black man who at first appears to have mental health problems, who was convicted of the murder of a child. Now, as his execution nears, the guards come to learn an impossible truth about him that could change everything. PAYBACK (1999) ITV4, 9pm Action thriller, starring Mel Gibson, Gregg Henry and Maria Bello. Violent marine-turned-criminal Porter is betrayed by his former partner and shot in the back and left for dead by his wife. He survives the ordeal and goes about trying to get his share of a recent robbery. However, a sinister organisati­on have swooped on the bounty.

THURSDAY

ABDUCTION (2011) 3e, 9pm Thriller, starring Taylor Lautner, Lily Collins and Alfred Molina. A teenager is shocked to discover a photo of himself as a baby on a missing persons’ website. His search for answers gets the people he thought were his parents killed, sending him on a frantic mission to find out the truth about why he is being pursued by unknown forces. TITANIC (1997) Film4, 9pm James Cameron’s Oscar-winning romantic drama, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet (below) and Billy Zane. An elderly woman recounts her time on board the infamous titular ship. At the time she was a naive aristocrat who was bored of her life of privilege. She falls for a poor artist she meets while at sea, but their love is challenged when the ship accidental­ly strikes an iceberg and begins to sink. Bill Paxton, Victor Garber and Kathy Bates also feature.

FRIDAY

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN — PART 1

(2011) E4, 9pm The first half of the romantic fantasy’s conclusion, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner. Bella is surprised to find out that she is pregnant, but the fast rate at which her baby grows soon becomes dangerous. The wolf pack see a threat to their future, leaving the Cullens with their backs against the wall to keep their family and their dreams safe. GOLDENEYE (1995) ITV4, 9pm Espionage action, starring Pierce Brosnan, Sean Bean, Izabella Scorupco and Famke Janssen. A top-secret satellite weapon system is stolen from the Russians by someone working from the inside. James Bond is sent to investigat­e, and must track down the person behind it before they use the weapon with the help of the only surviving member of the team who worked on it. PRISONERS (2014) TV3, 9pm Gripping drama, starring Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano. Two young girls are kidnapped and, acting quickly, a detective arrests his only lead. However, he is released due to a lack of evidence, leading the father of one of the girls to take matters into his own hands.

SATURDAY

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (2006) Film4, 6.45pm Comedy, starring Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. Ambitious journalism graduate Andy gets a position working for one of the most revered fashion magazines in the world. Although the work is far from what she wants to be doing she decides to give it her all. This proves difficult when she quickly discovers that her new boss is a fire-breathing perfection­ist who is hell-bent on making her life miserable. LIAR LIAR (1997) ITV2, 5.30pm Comedy, starring Jim Carrey. The young son of a lawyer wishes his father wasn’t able to lie, an innocent gesture that actually happens. Now the fast-talking attorney must find a different way to do his job without bending the truth for 24 hours. WILD (2014) Film4, 9pm Drama, with Reese Witherspoo­n, Laura Dern and Gaby Hoffmann. Cheryl is struggling to readjust after the death of her mother and the crumbling of her marriage. However, in an attempt to regain control, she decides to set off on a solo hike along the Pacific Crest Trail, despite her lack of experience, and the fact that it runs for over a 1,000 miles.
