Something in the heir on ShrewsburyRoad

-

There’s something in the heir. At least there was last weekend in the smartest part of Dublin 4 on Shrewsbury Road at the home of David Doyle — son of the late legend and hotelier PV Doyle — and wife Cristina.

It was all bling in Ballsbridge last Saturday night for the 21st of stunning Sophie Doyle. The bash, at her parents’ prestigious pad, had a Full Moon theme, with all the 150 or so guests wearing white.

An area of the house was transformed into a nightclub with all-white furniture and a dance floor. But there was more. Fire throwers and dancers added to the atmosphere of D4 joie de vivre on the night in honour of the beautiful birthday girl, who looked striking in a lace white dress. Ashley, Sophie’s sister and ‘insta queen’, was there with her boyfriend James Tracy, who plays for Leinster.

A mere four kilometres away on the same night in Lillie’s nightclub on Grafton Street Niall Breslin, aka Bressie, was also celebrating his birthday. The Blizzards singer popped in late with five friends. There was no birthday cake or much of a palaver, as Bressie is one of Irish life’s more private and decent chaps. You could also say the same of singer/ songwriter Damien Dempsey who was also in Lillie’s last Saturday night with some pals.

My Deep Throat on Grafton Street, alas, had no further information. So I am unable, sadly, to inform you whether Damien sang happy birthday to Bressie or even whether the duo meet up to discuss forming a post-modern super-group.
