-

THE shortlist of nominees for the KPMG Irish Independent Property Excellence Awards 2017 has been announced.

This year, 120 entries were received across 10 categories, and following the first stage of the online judging process, a 17-strong panel of judges has selected an impressive list of nominees for further consideration.

A number of Dublin city’s most prominent commercial buildings including Oracle’s Block B, LinkedIn’s EMEA headquarters and the Central Bank’s new headquarters at North Wall Quay feature across a range of the award categories.

The award for outstanding contribution to the Irish property sector meanwhile will be closely contested by a shortlist of nominees.

The shortlist includes estate agent Ken MacDonald of Hooke & MacDonald, former Savills chairman Aidan O’Hogan, Green Property chairman Stephen Vernon, and former managing director at Sisk and onetime chairman of Treasury Holdings, Kevin J Kelly. All four industry veterans will be vying with each other and with developers the Cosgrave Group and IPUT for the outstanding contribution award.

Jim Clery of KPMG said: “The professionalism exhibited in all entries was significant. From long-established players through to some very exciting emerging new professional talent, the 2017 shortlisted award nominees are setting a high standard of which we can all be proud.

“The nominees are testament to the property industry’s work ethic, dedication and unique ability to construct and create not just buildings but communities, businesses and spirit.”

The awards will be announced on Thursday, November 23 next at a dinner set to be attended by over 800 of Ireland’s leading property professionals at the Convention Centre Dublin.
