HOTELIER and retailer Luke Moriarty was presented with the coveted JC Savage Fingal Business Person of the Year Award at a special ceremony last Friday night.

He was presented with the award in recognition of the significant benefit his business activity brings to employees, customers, suppliers and the community in the Dublin Fingal area. Mr Moriarty, who is originally from Co Kerry, said he was delighted to claim the honour, especially considering the award is named after a figure who was legendary in the independent grocery sector. Mr Moriarty is the managing director of a business founded 30 years ago that comprises three Super Valu stores and two four-star hotels.

“Moriarty Group is a team effort and everything achieved over the past 30 years has been thanks to a dedicated team of people around me,” he said.

The prize, presented during the Fingal Dublin Business Excellence and Corporate Responsibility Awards, is sponsored by Dublin Airport and recognises Mr Moriarty’s contribution to Tidy Towns, GAA, and the local community.
