What was the biggest turning point in your career?

Changing from IT into the electrical industry. I went from a very fast-paced industry, where technology changed on a daily basis and everything was instant, into the electrical industry where it wasn’t.

What were the biggest differences that you saw?

We are all much more savvy now that everyone uses emails and iphones in their daily lives. But in IT we always had that. When I moved to the electrical sector at first we were still receiving purchase orders by fax and telephone. In IT I never saw a purchase order, it was all automated and online. Even today in this industry we still receive manual purchase orders.

Is there innovation in the electrical industry?

Absolutely. We have just launched a new energy storage product, called X storage that is very exciting that ultimately will allow even consumers to really manage and control their power usage. It has evolved because the cost of the lithium battery has fallen because it is used in mobile phones and electric cars.
