Older Fords need love too

Some Ford customers believe their older vehicles don’t need the same kind of care that newer cars do. That a non-Ford garage is cheaper or more convenient. But, Ford wants to destroy that idea with the Ford Motorcraft Service

Ford takes care of older vehicles as well as young. We take a look at the specialist Ford Motorcraft Service and how it services older vehicles

All Ford vehicles, old or young, need to be taken care of. But, some customers tend to think that it’s too expensive to get an older vehicle serviced at a Ford dealership. Some also think that the dealership won’t service the older Ford motorcar. This could not be further from the truth. Ford welcomes vehicles of any age, and they have introduced the Ford Motorcraft Service for this very reason.

The Ford Motorcraft Service is the onestop-shop for servicing, repairs and tyres, and can be found at your local participating Ford dealer. It is specifically designed to take care of vehicles older than five years and offers the reassurance of Ford-trained technicians using high-quality Ford Motorcraft parts.

According to David Pimlott, Customer Service Director for Ford Ireland, “Our Motorcraft service is a great value offering for owners of Ford vehicles that are five years or older. With a national recommended retail price of €149 for a comprehensive service, it will ensure the car is operating at its absolute best.

“We know that when money is tight, some motorists are tempted to skip a service. But, our advice to drivers is that skipping a service can sometimes lead to more serious problems in the longer term. For example, regular servicing of a vehicle will prevent the build-up of sludge in the engine. A build-up of sludge can lead to increased engine wear, reduced engine performance and consequently, reduced fuel economy.”

In the end, not servicing your Ford when it is due, can and does cost you money.

FORD V NON-FORD WORKSHOP

There are a number of factors to consider when choosing between Ford servicing and a non-Ford outlet.

These include quality, technical expertise, pricing and customer experience.

Quality - If you replace a part with something unsuitable, you risk affecting the integrity of the vehicle and risk compromising your vehicle warranty. Ford only uses original parts when servicing, which is important as these are the types of parts used when the car was originally manufactured.

Technical expertise - Technicians working at a Ford dealership are specially-trained. They have significant experience of working on Ford cars.

Pricing - With retail prices starting from €149, the service is very competitively priced.

“When you spread it out over a year, the Ford Motorcraft service works out at just over €12 per month,” says David Pimlott. “This is excellent value when you consider that the best trained technicians on the market are carrying out the service.”

Customer experience – Ford want their customers to be as happy as possible. There is no product pushing, hidden costs or nonagreed servicing carried out. Customers are offered tea and coffee. There are even play areas for children while you wait. Ford are there to help look after you and your car and give you peace of mind.

QUALITY COMMITMENTS

The Ford Motorcraft service is available to drivers of Ford cars and vans that are five years or older. This service includes a multi-point vehicle health check with Ford Video Check, oil top-up, oil and air filter replacements, and a free vehicle wash. In addition, customers can avail of replacement tyres for their vehicle from as low as €50 per tyre.

This service also offers a free NCT/CVRT re-test. The NCT and CVRT can be a stressful time for any vehicle owner. As part of the Ford Motorcraft Service, if a customer agrees to have all recommended repairs carried out, and the vehicle then fails the test within three months of the repairs, Ford will cover the full cost of the NCT retest or half the cost of the CVRT re-test.

This shows just how seriously committed Ford are to their quality and customer care.

PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE

Ford are very confident in their pricing. This is why they will match any like-forlike service and parts price that is lower than theirs.

As well as knowing they will only ever use Ford quality parts, customers using the Ford service are reassured by the clear and competitive pricing offered to them.

The next time your Ford needs a service, take it to your local Ford dealer. It will help to keep your Ford in peak condition, plus you will get the maximum value when it comes to reselling it. It pays to get your vehicle maintained by the people who know it best: the Ford trained staff and technicians at Ford Dealerships.
