The Loves Of My Life

Fashion guru Ashling Kilduff

-

The person

My partner, Richard. He is a very special person, and has made my life complete.

The memory

Holding my son, Alex, and my daughter, Eva, for the first time.

The moment of the day

When a happy customer leaves my store, the Design Centre, feeling good about herself.

The song

Imagine by John Lennon.

The movie

Legends of the Fall.

The hero

My mom, the most selfless person I know. Her knowledge and kindness know no bounds.

The book

Girl On A Train, by Paula Hawkins. I love a good thriller.

The outfit

My first bespoke couture gown created by the incredible Irish designer Synan O’Mahony.

The accessory

My stunning Philip Treacy black headpiece. That hat has had a lot of fun at the races over the years!

The gadget

My iPhone.

The pet hate

There is nothing worse than a lukewarm coffee!

The friend

I have a great group of long-standing friends, including my sister, Kim. I would be in big trouble if I singled out just one.

The beauty product

Touche Eclat and pink Vaseline — I can’t leave the house without either.

The holiday

I travelled to New York for the very first time in July, and completely fell in love with the city.

The vice

I am not a morning person, but I’m working on it.

The hobby

Pilates is a new hobby for me. I’m hoping for great things.

The drink

I love a good cocktail! The China Sichuan restaurant in Sandyford has a signature raspberry cocktail, and it’s one of my favourite treats.

The hotel

The Shelbourne hotel, particularly around Christmas time, is magical.

The bar

Mr Purple rooftop bar in New York. It has an unbelievable atmosphere and view.

The part of my body

My ankles, inherited from my mom.

The virtue

A sense of humour, which I’ve inherited from my dad, who was renowned for his witty one-liners.

The smell

The ocean. It brings to mind happy memories of my first swimming lesson from my grandfather.

The taste

My Uncle Dermot and Aunt Marie’s roast dinner. They have been like second parents to me. We always share special moments over mealtimes, and Saba’s delicious hake in banana leaf is also one of my all-time favourite dishes.

The piece of advice

My mother has always said, ‘There is a can in can’t!’ I love this — it’s so typical of my mom’s can-do attitude.

The celebrity

Gabriel Byrne. I had the pleasure of meeting him once, and his legendary charisma and charm didn’t disappoint.
