The nation’s Goldin couple light up Glasthule

-

The nation expects. No — not an election at Christmas. Something perhaps of equal import in the grand scheme of things...

I’m talking about Patrick Bergin and the beautiful Helen Goldin, sillies.

The nation expects that one of Ireland’s most romantic couples will make an official and public announcement about their undoubted love sooner rather than later.

The golden couple have been together for over nine months now — and have been seen everywhere from Bagots Hutton on Ormond Quay to the Sugar Club on Leeson Street to the Cari Lunch in the Shelbourne hotel, among many other hotspots around the town.

So, they are clearly not hiding their light under a romantic bushel.

And so it proved last Thursday in Rasam in Glasthule when Patrick and Helen dined a deux. They arrived a little later than their booking at 9pm. Movie star (Sleeping With The Enemy, Patriot Games, etc) Bergin was a little late to arrive as his boat from England was delayed.

In any event, Helen and Patrick stayed in Rasam until after midnight and were an example to all on matters of the heart.

No strangers to l’amour themselves, Rosanna Davison and her husband Wesley and his parents were in the same night in Rasam — to celebrate his father and his sister’s joint birthdays.

Meanwhile, literary queen Marian Keyes and her husband Tony were in the restaurant the night before.
