The Loves Of My Life

Kathryn Thomas

-

“With enough wishful thinking, it will be wrapped under the Christmas tree on December 25” “Never be afraid to follow your dreams. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you learn”

The person

My fiance, Padraig. I admire so much about him. His kindness, his loyalty, and his genuine human decency. It also helps that I fancy the pants off him as well.

The memory

Carefree childhood summers spent on the beach in Wexford, with all my cousins.

The moment of the day

Getting into our bed and snuggling down to watch Netflix, knowing that you have a lie-in the following morning.

The song

Anything by Fleetwood Mac or Guns N’ Roses. Also, Sam Smith’s

Stay with me is pretty special.

The movie

I’m into the creepies. Silence of the Lambs is always astounding

The hero

Tom Crean for his heroics on the Endurance voyage to the South Pole. And Nelson Mandela for his positivity, his unwavering belief in forgiveness and moving forward, and the unique way he could unify people from all walks of life by his very presence.

The book

I just finished Richard Branson’s second autobiography, Finding my Virginity. I love his humour and his endless quest for adventure.

The outfit

Black skinny jeans, black T-shirt, leather jacket, sunnies and heels — always heels.

The accessory

The Chanel bag I’ve been ogling in Brown Thomas — which I have not bought myself yet, but, with enough wishful thinking, will be wrapped under the Christmas tree on December 25... especially if himself reads the above!

The gadget

My iPhone.

The pet hate

Fake people.

The friend

I’ve an amazing group of friends. We have stuck with each other through thick and thin. I love them all.

The beauty product

A SkinCeuticals facials with Carla in the Marker Hotel, Dublin.

The holiday

Technically it was work, but a week diving with humpback whales in Tonga was pretty magical.

The piece of advice

“Never be afraid to follow your dreams. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you learn.” Since setting up my own company, Pure Results Bootcamp, I live by this advice even more.

The drink

Ravenswood Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 from Hollick Winery in Coonawara, South Australia. Heaven in a bottle.

The hotel

Oh, so many. Zarafa Camp in Botswana; Ballyfin Demesne in Co Laois, where we got engaged; Parknasilla Hotel, Sneem, Co Kerry, for a real Irish welcome; or, for Robinson Crusoe escapism, Kuramathi Island Resort in the Maldives.

The bar

Pod 39 Rooftop, NYC.

The hobby

Walking my dogs; trying new restaurants; dancing like it’s 1999 with my girls.

The part of my body

My brain.

The celebrity

David Attenborough — he’s a god.

The virtue

Humour. Imagine life with no laughter.

The vice

An Aero bar with a cup of Barry’s tea.

The smell

Replica Lazy Sunday Morning by Maison Martin Margiela.

The taste

Smoked chicken stew from Union 8 in Kilmainham.
