Pretty little sisters enjoy life to full

-

MY name is Tikka. Me and my sister, Koba, are two years old.

Mammy and Daddy came to look at my sisters and brothers when they saw us on Done Deal. Mammy was looking for two girls, Daddy wasn’t fussy. When I saw Mammy and Daddy coming through the gate, I just knew I wanted her to be my mammy, and when we looked at each other it was love at first sight. Mammy said to Daddy: “I’m going to take this one anyway,” and she lifted me up in her arms. I was shaking with excitement as she handed me to Daddy to hold. Daddy seemed lovely, too.

Mammy continued to look for one of my sisters to take home with us as she wanted me to have company. She picked Koba. I was delighted. So off we went on our journey home. I got sick in the car but Mammy didn’t give out, she took me in her arms. I felt so safe and couldn’t wait to start my new life. Me and Koba are the centre of attention in our house and when we go out we get admired because we are very pretty. I forgot to mention we are Japanese Spitz. I am a bit smaller than my sister. I try my best to look after Koba — that’s her, below on the right with me — as she is very shy. I clean her eyes and ears for her every day. I know Mammy brushes us all the time but I love Koba. I think she is a bit jealous of how much attention I get from Mammy. I’m the kind to just burst in and get loads of kisses from Mammy. I love to lie on her lap and for her to rub my belly. Mammy takes us for walks every day, but my sister has a heart problem. Mammy and Daddy were very upset but I try to make them laugh as much as possible. My Daddy taught me to do some tricks — my favourite is pick-pocketing. I love going into Daddy’s pockets as you never know what you will find. Another one of my favourite things is when we all go out as a family to the beach and Daddy lets me and Koba off our leads to run wild. It’s my favourite. There are loads of big rocks and I jump from rock to rock. Koba is boring. She just walks and eats lumps of seaweed.

I love my Mammy, Daddy and sister. It’s the best life. Eileen O’Shea, Taghmon, Co Wexford
