This year was an amazing year. Every year I think the next one can’t be better and every year it exceeds my expectations. Every time, I think my family can’t bring anything more to the table, then they do. There were so many highlights this year. My sister got married on New Year’s Eve 2016, then there was the birth of my very first nephew, [Conor] Junior. My son Harry (16 months) took his first steps and my daughter Taylor (17) got a job. They were the huge things.

Then I got my dream Jeep and I got a Rolex and there was a lot of material stuff. To be able to go to Brown Thomas and Conor buying us designer stuff we could never afford ourselves. Security teams bringing us through Vegas. Rubbing shoulders with celebrities. Watching my bother achieve another goal in the fight with Floyd [Mayweather].

I was laughing thinking back on the year because I had to think, what year was that? Was that this year or last year or when? The last few years seem not like a blur, but so exciting. And I love that there’s so much going on all the time. I thrive on being busy. I love that each week or month brings a new goal and stuff to get ready for.

It’s possibly a family trait. My mam works well like that. And Conor, obviously. My dad and Aoife are the bit more laid-back ones.

Every Christmas is spent with my family. I don’t cook. I can’t cook. That’s not the only reason, but we always go to Mam’s. It’s so exciting now, as obviously Conor is so generous to us and we’ll be getting amazing presents from him. But it’s not just my own gift that’s exciting. I equally love watching everyone else getting theirs and seeing their faces. The year that my dad got his Rolex, that was so brilliant.

Christmas is my mother’s favourite time of the year and her and my dad do an amazing spread. Every year before Christmas, she does a whole revamp of the house and it’s like a new pin when we all come in. Dad is the host and escorts us all in and then they’re busy in the kitchen. My partner is a musician and he’ll bring his guitar and there’ll be singing and later there’s games. My dad buys a new game every year in The Gadget Store in Dundrum.

There’s only nine months between Harry and Junior and having them makes it all so exciting. The babies bring back a little bit of life to the house. I have a 17-year-old and it’s been a while since she was small and this brings back what it was like with her and, for my mam what it like for her with us. The babies bring the magic back again.
