Extraordinary men are not always easy, uncomplicated men. And neither are Cork people. Even for non-rugby fans, Ronan O’Gara has always been an object of fascination.

He has a Roy Keane-like quality. His talent is one thing, but there’s an edge there, too. You always feel O’Gara might say something, something that might actually be true, or something that is not normally said in the environment of sport, or RTE. He might speak a truth that no one else has dared articulate. And, as Kurt Vonnegut says, the truth is powerful stuff, because people aren’t expecting it.

O’Gara always makes for an interesting and engaging interviewee, and Donal Lynch has a fascinating encounter with him for today’s cover story. We were intrigued, too, that the reason he was doing the interview was as an ambassador for Clarins. Better than stealing Jessica’s stuff, is his uniquely frank endorsement.

Elon Musk is an even more successful and even more interesting character than O’Gara. The profile of him today is long, but honestly, it’s well worth the read. Bizarre stuff.

When you’ve wrapped your head around those two enigmas, kick back and enjoy the best fashion, beauty and food, including Rachel’s fantastic easy pasta recipes, perfect for a hearty supper on a cold evening.
