Heaven’s Gate Podcast www.heavensgate.show

Heaven’s Gate was an American UFO/religious cult founded in 1974 and based in California. Led by Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles, the cult believed planet Earth was about to be “recycled” (“wiped clean, renewed, refurbished, and rejuvenated”), and the only chance to survive was to leave it immediately.

On March 26, 1997, police discovered the bodies of 39 members of the group, who had participated in a mass suicide, in order to reach what they believed was an extraterrestrial spacecraft following the Comet Hale-Bopp. Ever since, people have been asking ‘why?’ Well, here is an effort to answer that question.

Hosted by Glynn Washington of Snap Judgment, himself raised in a doomsday church, with the team behind hit podcast Missing

Richard Simmons, this compelling 10-part series talks to those who lost loved ones, and those who still believe.

We know how this story ended, but that doesn’t mean we’re not still fascinated by the start.

Limetown www.twoupproductions.com/shows/limetown

Crime, disappearances and unsolved mysteries of every sort are among the most successful podcasts around, and Limetown is the perfect example of a clever hybrid that unites all the above.

This is a fictional story, told as a series of investigative reports by Lia Haddock (played by Annie-Sage Whitehurst), a journalist for American Public Radio (APR), into the disappearance of over 300 men, women and children at a neuroscience research facility in Tennessee. The first series was made in 2015, unfolding gradually to become number one in America. The second series is finally ready to be released, so now is the time to go back and get up to date. It may not be ‘true’ but it’s still gripping.
