Mazars adds new payroll unit in Limerick
AUDIT, tax and advisory firm Mazars is to create a new payroll outsourcing business unit in Limerick that will provide both domestic and international payroll.
The new business unit will create up to 25 new jobs over a four-year period and will expands the firm’s overall capabilities on the west coast.
Last year, Mazars merged with mid-west centred business Maguire Caulfield Browne. Mazars is now further expanding its client offering in the region to service the increasing demand for outsourced payroll services, it said.
Current and future growth of the Mazars payroll services business is expected to be driven by a number of factors, the company said in a statement to this newspaper. These include impending regulatory changes, the attractiveness of the mid-west for multinational organisations wishing to outsource functions, the general benefits associated with the outsourcing of payroll functions and the globalisation of businesses.
“Our ambition is to become Ireland’s leading domestic and international payroll provider in the mid-west of Ireland,” said Mazars payroll outsourcing partner Mairéad Divilly.
“Incoming regulatory changes such as GDPR and the implementation of PAYE modernisation and real-time reporting, both of which will impact payroll operations and processing, will further the need for specialist expertise. The requirement for outsourcing is further driven by a shortage of specialised in-house payroll practitioners, which is compounded by a competitive recruitment market and the globalisation of businesses.”
Mazars Limerick lead partner Richard Maguire said he was delighted to welcome the expansion of the Limerick office.
“Our continued growth is a testament to the attractiveness of the region for international investment and multinationals. Home to over 100 overseas companies, and with multinationals employing over 14,000 people, the potential of Limerick and the west is being recognised internationally.”
Mazars Ireland now has over 400 staff in Limerick, Galway and Dublin.
