Probe as seven cygnets vanish from park

An investigation is continuing into the disappearance of seven young cygnets from Poppintree Park in Dublin last week. The young swans were just a few days old when last seen under the protection of their parents near a pond last Monday.

Fine Gael TD Noel Rock said there were fears locally of “foul play”. Dublin City Council is investigating the disappearance, with a source saying there was a possibility the cygnets had been preyed upon.
