Let’s spend night together at the InterContinental

-

Sympathy for the waiter? Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts had dinner with their respective wives (Patti Hansen, Sally Humphreys and Shirley Ann Shepherd) and families in the Lobby Lounge of the InterContinental last Tuesday and Wednesday night. I am renaming it The Gobby Lounge because Keith and Ron have a penchant for colourful chat and staying up; indeed they once stayed up without sleep (but with the assistance of certain Class A stimuli) for a whole week.

Dining en famille at the plush restaurant, I assume they got satisfaction?

They all checked into the hotel last Sunday night, checking out yesterday afternoon. The suave sojourn in D4 was due to the little matter of a show at Croke Park last Thursday night. Their boss Mick Jagger pitched his tent, so to speak, in the Merrion. Given that Mick’s most famous chat-up line — a long time ago and completely irrelevant now because the 74-year-old is happily attached to his 32-year-old ballerina girlfriend Melanie Hamrick — was once “Do you prefer to wake up in the countryside or the city?”, I can only hope that Jagger was glad to wake up in his suite in the city centre of Dublin.
