Kate Gilmore, actor

Kate Gilmore (25) is from Artane in Dublin and is currently appearing in the musical Assassins by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman at the Gate theatre, directed by Selina Cartmell. She will next appear there in The Snapper next month. Kate trained at the Gaiety School of Acting and Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting and recent credits include Fair City, Striking Out (RTE), The Great Gatsby (Gate), The Train, Town is Dead (Abbey) and Breathless (Smock Alley Theatre), for which she won The Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2015. Kate is also a writer and won the ZeBBie award for Best Radio Play last year for her one woman show The Wickedness of Oz. She is an only child and single. Her Dad works for Dublin City Council and her Mum is a legal secretary.
