Lovable, cute Prince rules my heart

- Eimear Carey (age nine) Delgany, Co Wicklow

THE day we got you, Prince, my heart filled with joy.

You followed us while we ran around the garden of your old home. On the journey home you may have got sick and pooped, but we still adored you and your fluffy tail. You may have eaten the sleeve and zip of my coat and chewed my maths book, but I don’t mind.

I would love to stay with you all day. I think of you at school, at home, everywhere I go. I love you and I think you love me too.

When I get home from school I run into you, drop my bag and kneel down to you. Everything in my head goes, all I think about is you.

I love to kiss you, even if my dad says not to. You are king and I am queen. Together we are terrific. You are my main man, my friend.

You are family to us — you may be different in body but it is really the inside that counts. We are all different in different ways, but we all have one thing in common — we all love somebody or something.

Once you have a pet, they become part of your life. Some people say ‘your dog is so cute’ when we walk you — but it is not how you look that’s important, it’s the love that counts.

Prince — you are the best thing that ever happened to us. I would not trade you for millions of euros. You are my best friend.

You are an amazing, beautiful little man. I love you with all my heart and you are my first and only pet, but you are the best pet ever. As you run on the beach and follow the dogs — and when you see your dog friend Milly — you run like a bullet in the sand.

My Mum, Dad, me and my three sisters love and adore you Prince, our little man.

Pride is in our hearts as we watch you run and we all love you, our little fellow. You are the heart of the family. I love you to pieces and I even tried to marry you once.

You are the bravest dog I know. I admire your cheery ways and your beautiful apricot fur coat.

A way to describe you is ‘an amazingly awesome guy’. Looking forward to more happy days with you, Prince.
