Remembering our man Andy with a night of fun and music

-

OUR great friend and colleague Andrew McDermott died suddenly on April 11.

Andrew, who was only 47, left behind his wife Lorna and three young children, Kitty (6), Ed (4) and Finn (17 months).

He worked in the advertising industry for more than 20 years.

From McConnell’s to McCann Erickson, Carlton Screen Advertising, to the

Sunday World and finally INM, Andy worked across the industry.

Wherever he worked, Andy left a lasting, positive feeling in the hearts of all those who worked with him.

The team at INM — along with much of the wider industry — are struggling to cope with this terrible loss and, of course, are mindful of the impact his premature death has had on his family

Now Andrew’s work family and friends have begun organising “AndyFest”, an event that will take place on June 14 in Twenty Two, South Anne Street, Dublin 2.

AndyFest is set to be a night of celebration and remembrance with acts such as Mundy, Foil Arms & Hog and Oliver Callan all signed up to perform, with more performers to be announced in the coming days.

There will also be a raffle with spot prizes including weekends away, holiday vouchers and electrical goods, to name a few.

A list of spot prizes can be found on the AndyFest Facebook page.

All support is welcome and greatly appreciated so please share the event on Facebook, buy a raffle ticket, donate and come join in the fun on the night.

The support so far from the advertising industry has been overwhelming.

This has come from agencies, clients and media owners from all sectors.

With such wonderful support, AndyFest has the makings of a memorable night and a fitting celebration of our great pal’s life.

To buy raffle tickets please contact Mairead Kearns at INM or Ronan O’Loughlin at Digitize.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up if you wish to donate separately. Contact: Mairead Kearns, mkearns@inmsales.ie; or Ronan O’Loughlin, Ronan@digitize.ie
