Beauty startup scoops Latin American award
IRISH beauty startup Nunaia (pronounced [noo-nigh-ya]), has won an award for sustainable luxury in Latin America.
Founder Nicola Connolly scooped the prize at the Centre for Sustainable Luxury Studies in Buenos Aires in Argentina. She has developed an organic beauty wellness range that has a “soil to skin” ethos built into it.
She previously spent a decade working with local communities on the Galapagos Islands, in the Ecuadorian Amazon, and the Andes Mountains in Peru, helping them develop business models for their unique heritage. Connolly was selected as a winner by a panel of international luxury experts, including Dana Thomas, author of bestseller How Luxury Lost its Lustre.
